Day 1 Friday:  Anchorage

Upon arrival transfer to a downtown hotel. Remaining day at leisure. Explore Alaska's largest city and visit the many points of interests. Take a walk on the Coastal Trail along Cook Inlet to Earthquake Park with a magnificent view of the snow capped Alaska Mountain Range in the distance, visit Alyeska – Alaska's largest Ski Resort or have a delicious dinner at one of Anchorage's top seafood restaurants. During February and March Anchorage hosts the annual Fur Rendezvous, Ice Carving Festivals, the Iditarod Sled Dog Race and other super natural Winter events. Overnight: Anchorage

Day 2 Saturday:  Anchorage - Fairbanks

Transfer to the Anchorage rail station and departure at 8:15 am for a very scenic full-day rail tour to Fairbanks. The seats are pre-reserved and the staff takes care of your entire luggage. Enjoy the ride ! You'll get fantastic and breathtaking views of the snow covered Alaska Mountain Range with it's towering 20.320 feet high Mt. McKinley. Stopovers are in Talkeetna and Denali National Park before arriving in Fairbanks in the evening at 7:45 pm. Check in at a downtown hotel. Tipp: Fairbanks provides some spectacular and outstanding Northern Lights viewing (Aurora Borealis) opportunities. Remaining evening at leisure. Overnight: Fairbanks

Day 3 Sunday:  Fairbanks – Chena Hot Springs

Morning: visit the University of Alaska with its large collection of Alaska artifacts, gold nugget displays and Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights) background information. Check out also the Geophysical Institute on the campus with it's current updated Aurora Forecasts. If you travel during February or March - Fairbanks hosts the World Ice Art Championships, exciting professional Sled Dog Races and a variety of winter carnival activities. Early Afternoon: Private van transfer (60 Miles) to Chena Hot Springs Resort. First opportunities to watch Aurora displays on the dark northern skies. Overnight: Chena Hot Springs.

Day 4 Monday:  Chena Hot Springs

Breakfast at the hotel. Remaining day at leisure. The Chena Hot Springs Resort features a indoor thermal-pool with a large redwood outdoor deck, some indoor and outdoor hot tubs, restaurant, bar, the damous ice museum and hotel as well as a large - mineral water feed - natural rock lake. The rooms are providing the following aminities: full bathroom, two queen beds, TV, coffeemaker. A unique heated Aurora Viewing cabin for your pure undisturbed Northern Lights viewing enjoyment is just a short walk away from the resort. Overnight: Chena Hot Springs.

Day 5 Tuesday:  Chena Hot Springs

Spend this day at leisure with some exiting outdoor acitiviies. Independent local operators are providing x-country skiing lessons and trips, a variety of sled dog tours from 30 minutes to 4 hours, wonderful sleigh rides, guided snowmobiling trips into the Chena Hills or flightseeing trips to the Arctic Circle with it's remote and authentic native villages. Alternative: just relax in the natural hot springs or take a massage to get ready for another night of breathtaking Northern Lights viewing pleasures. Please Note: The best Aurora Viewing starts around 10:00 pm and continous far past midnight. Overnight: Chena Hot Springs

Day 6 Wednesday:  Chena Hot Springs - Fairbanks

After breakfast time to enjoy the Chena Hot Springs Resort facilities. Around noon minibus return transfer (60 Minutes) to Fairbanks. Flight reservations to your home destination may be made anytime after 3:00 pm. Please Note: all flights to/from or within Alaska are not included. Rest of the day on your own and tour extensions are readily available. Please inquire. End of the tour package.
